The Indians host the Rockies at Goodyear Ballpark this afternoon, first pitch is scheduled for 4:05 ET. The game will not be televised, but audio is available via MLB.TV.
Corey Kluber will start for the Indians. He will likely be asked to go 6 innings. He struggled in each of his last two outings, and was unable to get through his scheduled 5 innings last time. Hopefully he has more success this time out. Starting for the Rockies will be Jordan Lyles, a young right-hander they acquired from Houston this offseason.
Today's starting lineup:
1) Asdrubal Cabrera (SS)
2) Nick Swisher (1B)
3) Jason Kipnis (2B)
4) Carlos Santana (DH)
5) Michael Brantley (LF)
6) Lonnie Chisenhall (3B)
7) Yan Gomes (C)
8) Mike Aviles (CF)
9) Elliot Johnson (RF)
With the news today that Elliot Johnson is among those who will has make the 25-man roster, all nine of those guys will be on the team come Opening Day. It seems somewhat notable to me that Santana is DH'ing, but no official word has come out on what his role will be yet, so perhaps I shouldn't read anything into it.
