Indians Sunday Game Threads: Split-squad action, with Masterson and Harang starting

The Tribe splits up for the afternoon, some will face the Cubs, while others face the Giants.

The Indians have a split-squad day, so half the team will head to Mesa to face the Cubs, while the rest head to Scottsdale to play the Giants. Both games will begin at 4:05 ET. The game against the Cubs will be available on MLB.TV (Cubs broadcast only, but they've got a solid team in the booth, so don't be afraid), with audio also available on WTAM in the Cleveland area. The game against the Giants will only have audio available (via MLB.TV), and it will be the Giants feed.

Justin Masterson will start vs. the Cubs. He'll likely throw 5 innings, perhaps even 6. Aaron Harang will start vs. the Giants, and likely go 4 or 5 innings. That leaves a number of innings between the two games for relievers, but I haven't seen a rundown on who is expected to go.

Today's starting lineups:

vs. Cubs:

1) Asdrubal Cabrera (DH)

2) Elliot Johnson (SS)

3) Carlos Santana (3B)

4) Yan Gomes (C)

5) Jeff Francoeur (LF)

6) Mike Aviles (CF)

7) Matt Carson (RF)

8) David Adams (1B)

9) Ryan Rohlinger (2B)

vs. Giants:

1) Michael Bourn (CF)

2) Nick Swisher (DH)

3) Jason Kipnis (2B)

4) Michael Brantley (LF)

5) David Murphy (RF)

6) Lonnie Chisenhall (3B)

7) Bryan LaHair (1B)

8) Justin Sellers (SS)

9) Matt Treanor (C)

Not wanting to cheat either opponent, Francona did a pretty good job of splitting the talent. I keep expecting to see Santana pencilled in at catcher, because I have to think the team plans to get him some work behind the plate, but instead he's getting another day at third base. I don't know that the hot corner will be a straight platoon during the season, but I certainly expect we're going to see Carlos get more than just emergency opportunities to play there. One final note, today will be LaHair's Cactus Legaue debut for the Indians.
