The Indians will travel to Scottsdale this afternoon to face the Diamondbacks, with first pitch scheduled for 4:10 ET. The game will be televised on MLB.TV, with the Tribe's feed available.
Justin Masterson will start for the Indians. Going today sets him up for Opening Day (less than three weeks to go!), and he'll continue to work up his stamina by throwing 4 or 5 innings this afternoon. The Diamondbacks have something close to their regular lineup going, and most of those guys will stay in the game at least as long as Masterson, so he'll get to work through a legitimate batting order twice (watch out for Paul Goldschmidt!).
Cody Allen, Bryan Shaw, David Aardsma, and Austin Adams are each scheduled to throw an inning today as well. Allen and Shaw are expected to be two of the Tribe's top relievers, while the other two will likely find themselves in minor league spring training in another week or so.
Today's starting lineup:
1) Michael Bourn (CF)
2) Asdrubal Cabrera (SS)
3) Jason Kipnis (2B)
4) Michael Brantley (LF)
5) Yan Gomes (C)
6) Lonnie Chisenhall (3B)
7) Jeff Francoeur (RF)
8) David Adams (1B)
9) Francisco Lindor (DH)
It's a little strange to see Lindor at DH, but his defense doesn't need much work. He's likely to find himself in minor league camp within the next week, but I'm glad he's getting some more reps in against MLB pitching (Trevor Cahill will start for Arizona this afternoon).
