News and Notes: Guardians lose Reynaldo Lopez Sweepstakes to the Braves

The Braves signed Reynaldo Lopez yesterday, no doubt barely beating out the Guardians’ undoubtedly competitive offer for the hard-throwing, late-inning reliever:

Reports are that the Braves are stretching Lopez out as a starter. I am but a lowly fan and sports blog writer, but that’s a very odd decision to me after a guy like him became dominant by moving to the pen.

The 2024 Baseball Hall of Fame Ballot was announced yesterday:

Not a lot else going on. Jonathan Rodriguez is starting to hit better in the Puerto Rico Winter League, upping his OPS to .697. I THINK we may hear about whom the Guardians hire as bench coach, third base coach, bullpen coach and replay coordinator today, as Antonetti said they were hoping to have those in place before Thanksgiving.
