I have always been interested on the Cleveland rosters in various methods (see the Acquiring posts). One method I have used to track the roster I by seniority. While you might say, well they drafted this guy in 201X, so he has been with the squad since then. My tracking here only follows the player when they made their Cleveland debut on the MLB 25/26-man roster and then stayed on the roster continuously. For example, Bryan Shaw will show in this year’s compilation, but only since he re-signed back in 2021, not his original tenure, he is not the second longest tenured player (although he is just outside the Top 10!).
The biggest comment I have here is the massive gap between Jose Ramirez and literally everyone else. There is roughly a four- and half-year gap between Jose and Shane Bieber. That means every player that debuted with Cleveland in 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017 are long gone. This is a pretty crazy anomaly. Also, one of the youngest players on the roster, Triston McKenzie, is sixth (!) in seniority. Crazy.
