In a message posted to Instagram this afternoon, New York Mets pitcher Carlos Carrasco said goodbye (excuse me, “see you later”) to the team and city that he has called home since 2009.

Cleveland. I don’t know where to start. You have been my home, family and community since the organization traded for me in 2009. The fans, my teammates, coaches, front office, namely Chris Antonetti, and the Dolan family ownership have made me the player and more importantly the person I am today. You guys have meant the world to me these last 12 years. Thank you for welcoming me and my family and making us one of your own. Thank you for believing in me and caring for me on and off the field. Thank you for letting me be more than just a baseball player, but a community member. From the bottom of my heart thank you for supporting both “The Carlos Carrasco Foundation” and “The Karry Carrasco Foundation. THANK YOU FOR STANDING FOR ME.

This is not goodbye, but a “see you later.” I love you Cleveland.

THANK YOU. GRACIAS!Cookie @karrycarrascofoundation @karryontravelshow

It should go without saying, but right back at ya, Cookie. You’re a special person and pitcher and the Cleveland organization is a better one because of you.
