Adam Cimber strengthens hold on lifetime roster spot as Cam Hill optioned

Morning news and notes for Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2020

MLB: Cleveland Indians at Minnesota Twins Jordan Johnson-USA TODAY Sports

He can’t keep inherited runners from scoring and shouldn’t be pitching in a league with a three-batter minimum, but Adam Cimber’s roster spot remained safe on Tuesday, as one of his pen mates was sent to the alternate site. Cam Hill, along with the six puny hits he allowed in 14 innings (4.01 SIERA, because of his low BABIP), was demoted.

After the head-scratching move, the Indians went on to whoop the Royals 10-1. Zach Plesac returned and pitched great, Cal Quantrill and Austin Hedges made their Indians debuts, and Josh Naylor collected 2 hits.
