Mets have the major league ready talent to deal that we want in return. Amed Rosario comes to replace Frankie. Plays a good not great SS and has some pop. Mets don't need him with Frankie on board. Key piece is Dom Smith. He slides in at 1B for the next 3-4 years. We'd also receive a lottery ticket. We could make it a multi-player deal by including someone like Deshields and a prospect for a better prospect in return.
Apart from the Frankie deal I think we add a couple of low level FA's.
Sign 2B Eric Sogard, 1 year, 1.5 million plus incentives. Plays good D and gets on base. He's been a good year/bad year guy, and this would be his good year.
Relievers will be cheap, so I think we sign a lefty. I'm going with Tony Watson, 1 year, 2 million.
NRI who would make the team if Deshields is dealt, Steven Souza.
FA outfield market is bad, so we deal for one. David Dahl in Colorado is supposedly on the block. He's been injury prone and is arb 1 but won't be pricey. He's produced when healthy. Bobby Bradley with the universal DH in Colorado might be fun to watch. A pitching prospect like Oviedo, or if they're looking major league ready, Allen or Moss, and a lottery ticket should do it. They want to deal him.
Non-tender Naquin. Trade Plutko for a flyer.
I think Cookie stays, so rotation of Beiber, Cookie, Plesac, Civale and McKenzie.
Bullpen of Karinchak, Wittgren, Clase, Watson, Maton, Hill and Nelson.

Why this team contends. Dahl stays healthy and hits. Smith provides excellent production. Rosario plays a good SS, hits .275 with 12-15 HR. Naylor breaks out hitting .285 with 20 HR. Reyes cranks 40 bombs. Jose is Jose. Solid defense all around. Pitching, pitching, pitching...
Total payroll around 50 million
