I love playing armchair GM for my favorite team and enjoy pretending it’s my genius moves that bring the Indians a World Series and end the longest championship drought in baseball (all of sports even maybe?) anyway here’s my crack at it


Arbitration decisions

  • C Austin Hedges (non tendered)
  • RHP Adam Cimber (non tendered)
  • OF Delino Deshields (tendered $2.1M)
  • SS Francisco Lindor (see Klubot transaction)
  • RHP Phil Maton (tendered $700k)
  • OF Tyler Naquin (non tendered)
  • RHP Nick Wittgren (tendered $1.4M)
Options:
  • Carlos Santana $17.5M (declined)
  • Brad Hand $10M (declined although I would have picked it up)
  • Domingo Santana $1.5M (declined)

Trades:
  • SS Francisco Lindor, RHP Jeffry Rodriguez and cash considerations traded to the New York Mets for 1B/OF Dominic Smith, UT Andres Gimenez, C Francisco Alvarez, LHP Thomas Szapuki and RHP Franklin Kilome.
  • In a three way dance the Indians acquire SS Orlando Arcia, RHP Freddy Peralta and C Jacob Nottingham from the Milwaukee Brewers and acquire UT Joey Wendle and OF Brett Phillips from the Tampa Bay Rays. The Indians send RHP Zac Plesac and INF Yu Chang to the Brewers; RHP Cam Hill, RHP Jeffry Rodriguez and compensation pick ‘B’ to the Rays. The Brewers and Rays would exchange young lower level talent to as well.
  • LHP Logan Allen and 1B/OF Jake Bauers traded to Cincinnati for RHP Archie Bradley.
Free Agent Signings:
  • LHP Drew Smyly 2 years; $10.5M
  • 1B Carlos Santana 1 year; $5M with $5M available in performance bonuses
  • LHP Jake McGee 1 year $3M; $6M option for ‘22 with $500k buyout
  • LHP Oliver Perez 1 year $1.5M
