Columbus Clippers 7, Durham Bulls 4
Box Score · Clippers lead series 2-0
Veteran catcher Ryan Lavarnway, signed to the Clippers less than two weeks ago on Aug. 30, had one of the best games of his career.
Lavarnway went 2-4 with two home runs, one being a grand slam and the other a two-run shot, driving in six of the Clippers’ seven runs.

Ka’ai Tom went 2-5 while Bradley Zimmer went 2-3 with a hit by pitch. Bobby Bradley also reached base safely twice with a walk and a hit by pitch.
Starting pitcher Logan Allen was sensational, allowing just one run on four hits in 6.0 innings while striking out six and walking two.
Cameron Hill struggled out of the pen with three runs allowed, but James Karinchak saved the day with scoreless ninth inning to earn the save.
It also wouldn’t be right if I didn’t share two highlights from game one, where Bobby Bradley and Ka’ai Tom both hit three-run home runs.
Bobby Bradley.

Also, Ernie Clement and Andrew Velasquez combined for one of the best double plays you’ll see all year.
