N&N: Zach Plesac pitches CGSHO in Anaheim

New, 15 comments

Morning N&N for September 11, 2019

MLB: Cleveland Indians at Los Angeles Angels Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

Jordan Luplow and Franmil Reyes provided the offense and Zach Plesac showed up with the pitching. Plesac was provided with 8 runs last night, but 1 would have been enough, as he pitched a complete game shutout against the Angels of Anaheim. It was kinda insane that Tito left him out there once the lead grew to 8, but what a cool moment for the rookie RHP.

His night was made easier by Mike Trout missing his 2nd consecutive game with a wordy foot injury, but make no mistake—he was so SO GOOD in this one.

Around baseball

• Christian Yelich is out for the season with a knee injury :(

• The Dodgers have clinched the NL West. The only team to clinch the NL West earlier was the Reds in 1975.

• The Oakland Baseballers scored 21 points runs against Wade Miley and the Astros bullpen

• The Giants activated John Cueto

• Showing that bad offense beats bad pitching, the Tigers beat the Yankees 12-11
