In incredible news breaking this afternoon, it seems that the Cleveland Indians will welcome back Carlos Carrasco to the team this weekend:
After a long and scary journey, Carlos Carrasco will be activated on Sunday.

Carrasco has been out of action at the MLB level since May 30 when he was diagnosed with leukemia. At the time, no one thought that Cookie would be back with the Indians this season. But he’s been fighting like hell since then and, according to Terry Francona, if his last bullpen outing goes well, he will be activated Sunday and pitch out of the bullpen for the Cleveland Indians.
Getting Carrasco back is great baseball news, but it’s even better news outside of the sport because it would seem to indicate that Carlos is well on his way to beating cancer. We’re all rooting for you, Cookie.
