They did it! The Indians won on a Tuesday! The victory extended their streak against Detroit to 12 wins, and 53 of their last 70! That’s insane. The Tigers couldn’t even muster much contact against Adam Plutko. Miguel Cabrera left the game with bicep tightness.
Speaking of injuries, Jose Ramirez has been given a timetable of 5-7 weeks by the Indians medical staff, which means we’re probably 5-7 weeks away from his regularly scheduled setback.
Meanwhile, the Royals are for sale, and John Sherman (That’s his first name. John. Apparently. For the first time, I found someone not refer to him as “Sherman” or “Mr. Sherman.”) wants to sell his stake in the Indians to buy them. What a downgrade! Bit of an overreaction to the Ramirez news there, bud.
MLB owners are really a financially struggling bunch:
The potential sale of the Royals, which was first reported by The Athletic, would end David Glass’ nearly 20-year ownership of the franchise. He bought the team for $96 million in 2000 and would get more than 10 times that if the deal is finalized.
