Carrasco was placed on the injured list in June with what was then described as a blood condition making him lethargic and unable to pitch.
The condition, which we now know is leukemia, or a cancer of the blood, is reportedly being treated and under control, according to Carrasco. He wishes to pitch again this season, but obviously right now our thoughts are beyond baseball. I believe I can speak for everyone when I say that he and his family are in our thoughts and we wish him nothing but the best in his recovery.
The full interview with CDN 37 will air Sunday.
