Here’s to a great week!
Royals 9, Indians 6
Trevor Bauer had a rough day on the mound, giving up seven earned runs in just 4 1⁄3 innings and also lost his mind by launching a baseball in frustration over the center field fence in Kansas City. Yikes.
Carlos Santana, Jordan Luplow, and Jose Ramirez all homered for the Tribe in the loss. The Indians are 62-43 and two games behind the Twins.

Bauer fires ball over wall before getting pulled | Indians.com
Bauer apologized and Terry Francona and Roberto Perez spoke on the situation. From Mandy Bell:
When the media approached him at his locker after the game, Bauer cut off the first question from being asked and opened with this statement:
“First and foremost, I owe a sincere apology to all of my teammates, my coaching staff, the organization and all of our fans for how I conducted myself today. It’s unbecoming. It was childish, unprofessional. There’s no place for it in the game.”
Indians trade for Christian Arroyo and Hunter Wood | cleveland.com
Our track record with deals like this is remarkable. Here’s hoping the Tribe strikes gold again.
Around the League
- Mets land Stroman from Blue Jays for two top pitching prospects
- Rays acquire Sogard from Blue Jays (big reason why they traded Hunter Wood to us, as they needed the room on their 40-man)
- Blue Jays to call up Bo Bichette to majors (WOW, lots of Blue Jays news!)
- Trade deadline rumors
