The Indians are 8-4. For all the negativity and criticism around the club, plus injuries to star players, that record is plenty impressive. Small-sample, sure, but it sure beats the alternative!
The Tribe got that 8th win of the season Thursday afternoon, with a 4-0 win over Detroit.
Shane Bieber was excellent, putting up seven scoreless innings. He allowed just three hits and one walk, striking out six. The few jams that the right-hander found himself in were taken care of with relative ease.
Bieber pounded the strike zone a little less than normal, but really kept the ball down well and mixed in a new-and-improved changeup. For his performance, Bieber earned the coveted “King of the Hill” crown.
This weeks King of the Hill award goes to @ShaneBieber19 for straight dominating today. YAAAASSSSS BIEBBBBBSSSS KILLIN ITTTTT @Indians pic.twitter.com/5k6ClneLV5

The bullpen did their job too, with Adam Cimber and Brad Hand putting up clean innings to finish off the Tigers.
Offensively, Leonys Martin had a day against his former team, going 3-4 with a homer. The home run was his second of the series and was absolutely smashed to deep right field. Martin now has a 125 wRC+ (100 is a league average hitter) and let’s hope his hot hitting continues.
Carlos Santana stayed hot as well, reaching base in all five of his plate appearances. Brad Miller also added two hits for the Tribe.
Next up for Cleveland is a three-game series in Kansas City. Carlos Carrasco is set to take the mound tomorrow night, facing off against Brad Keller. I like our chances for 9-4. #LGT
