Jon Edwards is an arm to watch in the Indians bullpen | cleveland.com

Tito seems to be a big fan. From Paul Hoynes:

At the end of last year, when Francona talked about potential changes in the bullpen, he mentioned Jon Edwards, a September call-up from Class AAA Columbus. Edwards made nine appearances, striking out 10 with four walks in 8 2/3 innings.

Edwards’ September arrival and departure did not seem all that important. Francona, however, called him a “sleeper” regarding the 2019 season.

On Sunday, he was asked about the 6-5, 235-pound Edwards again.

“I will be surprised if he doesn’t do really well,” said Francona. “You don’t want to proclaim too much. But I think in my first year here I said Corey Kluber is situated to have a pretty good year. Well, you know what, he was.

“I think Jon Edwards, from where he’s been, the way he works, the way he acts, the way he conducts himself, I’ll be surprised if he doesn’t do pretty well.”
