As an Indians fan, you were certainly aware of the allegations that the Houston Astros cheat. Well, yesterday Ken Rosenthal reported that the Astros are, in fact, cheaters.
Specifically, in 2017, when they did so electronically.
The Astros, as they do seemingly daily, released a statement.
Meanwhile...
• The Indians farm system is strong and young.
• Jon Heyman ‘reports’ that the Indians are getting lots of calls about their most famous player. (Duuh) And passes along word that Chris Antonetti said “My expectation is Frankie will be the shortstop Opening Day next year.”
Around baseball
• The SF Giants have hired Gabe Kapler to manage their baseball team.
• In the market for a defense-only shortstop who makes a ton of errors, the Rockies signed Eric Stamets to a minor league deal.
• The Reds are poking around Marcell Ozuna.
• The White Sox would like it if Jose Abreu stuck around. They would like it more if he would do it for nine hundred thousand dollars.
• Adam Wainwright is staying in St. Louis. For at least 5 million bucks
• Rocco Baldelli and Mike Shildt were named AL and NL Manager of the Year
• GMs are gathered in Arizona to vote on a really dumb possible new rule.
