The Indians offense was sleepy last night, doing nothing against Minnesota’s Adalberto Mejía, and the baseball news cycle wasn’t much more lively.
The Indians did end up scoring 2 runs off the Twins’ bullpen after Mejia left with a strained wrist, but that wasn’t enough to overcome the 3 runs they gave up.
Eddie Rosario went back to beating the snot out of Cleveland pitching, which hopefully stops soon.
Another tired thing is the logo that was created for the 2019 ASG in Cleveland. The guitar cliche makes another appearance, Cleveland! Woooooo!
• Hopefully Lonnie Chisenhall also makes another appearance in Cleveland before the season ends. He’s working hard to do just that but could use some help from the minor league affiliates.
Around baseball
• Popular deadline Tribe target Kyle Barraclough has hit that point that most relievers hit: Not good. And because of that, he is no longer Miami’s closer.
• Jeff Sullivan has some interesting tidbits about Juan Soto and Dee Gordon.
Every MLB team made a mistake not trading their rentals at the deadline for this GOAT
