Cody Allen ties franchise record for career saves

Morning News and Notes for July 4

MLB: Cleveland Indians at Kansas City Royals Peter G. Aiken

Last night, Cody Allen saved his 139th game in a Tribe uniform, tying him with Bob Wickman for the most in club history. Allen’s ERA with the team is a half run lower than Wickman’s was. Hopefully Allen gets past 200 in a couple years, after signing an extension.

The 6-4 lead he locked down was courtesy of a Yan Gomes grand slam that turned a 4-2 deficit into that lead. Yan continued his strong season with the team’s 8th GS of the year. #VoteYan.
