Let’s Talk Tribe Podcast Ep. 94: Hey now, Trev’s an All-Star

Jeff Passan had a great interview with Trevor Bauer, and like very real professional journalists, we listened to it and gave our own opinions instead of trying to interview Bauer ourselves. There was a lot of great stuff in that interview, and if you haven’t listened to it, you should check it out at some point.

Also, the Indians are sending a whopping five players to the All-Star game, including Bauer making his first trip. Can he become the best in the game like he wants to be? Can he really uproot the system and make one-year deals work throughout his career? It’s going to be a hell of a ride, either way.

You could argue that Bauer’s methodology requires a lot of beliving in himself. Another player doing the same is the Tribe’s top prospect, Francisco Mejia. After playing at catcher throughout his whole career, the Indians are asking him to switch to a right fielder to get playing time. While he has obliged in Triple-A, there are rumblings that he isn’t happy with it, and he might even already be up if his heart was more into it.
