Happy Sunday, folks!
Indians 1, Twins 7
Trevor Bauer had dominant stuff for the majority of the game, but a couple of errors and the inability to capitalize against Lance Lynn ended up costing the Indians.
Remember the other day when Matt told you to go vote Francisco Lindor into the All-Star Game? Well if you needed any more convincing, MLB announced yesterday that Lindor is the AL Player of the Month for May. Over 132 plate appearances in May, Lindor had a slash line of .373/.432/.737 (wRC+ of 211) with 44 hits total, 10 of which left the yard.
Remember that Adam Plutko kid who pitched pretty well in his limited time with the Tribe this season before heading back to AAA? Well, he pitched 8.1 perfect innings on Saturday night and ended up with the minor league club’s second no-hitter of the season. Something tells me he’ll be back in Cleveland before too long.
Mike Clevinger has been officially fined by MLB:
Officially have been fined for wearing these cleats even after getting them 51% team color, I do this for my daughters and family, as fans and players who follow me, what’s your take on players expressing themselves this way? @MLB— Mike Clevinger (@Mike_Anthony13) June 2, 2018
Around the league
- Max Scherzer came through for his club last night in a way you may not have expected.
- Dustin Pedroia is back on the DL with knee inflamation.
- Brandon Belt will miss 3 weeks after having an appendectomy.
- Things are not going well for the Mets this week.
- Homer Bailey also has knee inflammation.
- Dee Gordon put some extra time in after Saturday night’s game:
Frustrated with his at-bats, Dee Gordon kept his uniform on and went hit in the cage after the 4 hour and 16 minute game. He's now standing at home plate at Safeco simulating at-bats and taking dry swings.— Ryan Divish (@RyanDivish) June 2, 2018
