It’s early, but value ratings tend to agree with each other at this point on who the best pitchers in the game are. Gerritt Cole is a god, Verlander is Verlander once again, and Mike Clevinger is among the 30 best starters in baseball at the moment. To my mind, he hasn’t even “turned it on” yet; Clevinger is capable of striking out ten per nine innings, and he is hovering just below seven.
