MLB: Spring Training-Cleveland Indians at Milwaukee Brewers Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

Indians lost 7-6 to the Reds yesterday. But Jason Kipnis homered again, so the game was a win for me. It was Jason’s 6th (in 6 games played) which tied him for the most hit by a Cleveland Indian in the Cactus League. Francisco Lindor homered as well. Yawn.

Francisco Mejia was HBP but is fine.

Indians news not yet behind The Athletic’s paywall

• Trevor Bauer isn’t comfortable when somebody is better than him. I’m okay with Corey Kluber and Carlos Carrasco being better than him. But he isn’t. And even he was impressed by this Jordan Bastian piece.

• Tribe pitching prospect (I know...) Julian Merryweather has a sprained UCL in his elbow and has been shut down.

• Michael Brantley has advanced to agility work. That doesn’t say “playing baseball games.”

• CarCar’s slider is lookin’ good.

Around baseball

• The Royals signed Jon Jay

• Bullpen carts are making a comeback. In Arizona at least.

• The Angels defense is looking really good

• The A’s released LGFT Brandon Moss

• The Tigers released the injured Travis Wood
