Josh Tomlin finishes spring training with excellent outing

Morning news and notes for Monday, March 26, 2018

Here’s to a great week!

Indians 6, Reds 4 Recap | Box Score

Josh Tomlin finished spring training on a positive note, allowing just three hits and two runs over 6 23 innings on Sunday. In true Tomlin fashion, the right-hander didn’t walk a batter in the outing. Young studs Bradley Zimmer and Will Benson went deep for the Tribe.

Refsnyder doing all he can to make Opening Day roster |

Decisions coming soon. From Jordan Bastian:

The bulk of the Tribe’s Opening Day outfield is set. Bradley Zimmer will be in center field, Lonnie Chisenhall will be in right and Rajai Davis will be added to the roster as a right-handed complement for all three positions. And on Sunday, Francona announced that veteran Michael Brantley (right ankle) would begin the season on the disabled list, meaning Tyler Naquin will also be on the roster for chances in left field.

The Indians believe Refsnyder, who hits from the right side, can fill a similar role as Guyer if the latter is not ready in time for Opening Day. Cleveland could use Refsnyder in the outfield corners and give him at-bats primarily against left-handed pitching.

Why would the Indians trade Cody Allen or Andrew Miller if they’re contending |

Another great Hey Hoynsie. Read at your own risk.

Roberto Perez wants hits |

Yes, more of those hits please, Mr. Perez.
