Mickey Callaway has already forgotten about the Indians

Morning N&N for February 14, 2018

MLB: Winter Meetings
Still the GOAT tho
Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

Former Indians pitching coach Mickey Callaway said yesterday that his current pitching staff, that of the New York Mets, has quality stuff that nobody else has. He is, of course, wrong, since as Jeff Sullivan points out, the staff he oversaw last season may have been the best in MLB history.

Still though, I would bet on him lowering that staff’s ERA by at least a half run, and perhaps a whole run in 2018. We will miss him, no matter how much he has forgotten where he came from.

Around baseball

• Detroit RHP Warwick Saupold was not hanging out at TB12 Sports Therapy this offseason.

• The Cubs made their Yu Darvish signing official .

• Darvish prefers Willson Contreras to Chris Gimenez. Same.

• The Marlins OF may have gone from best to worst, but how bad will it really be?.
