Let’s Go Tribe Book Club: Tiebreaker

With the vote split, I must wield my awesome, terrible power

Well, you guys did it. You delivered a perfectly split vote.

Thank you to all 46 of you who participated in the poll, but you have not made things any easier for me. Now, as the commissioner of this book club, I must use my powers to bring peace to the warring factions of our people.

Like Bud Selig in the 2002 All-Star Game, I must broker a solution. Unlike Bud Selig, I can promise that at least 30% of those participating will be pleased with my decision. Thus, also unlike Bud Selig, I rule in favor of the Montreal Expos. The next pick for the Let’s Go Tribe Book Club will be Jonah Keri’s history of the doomed franchise, Up, Up, and Away: The Kid, the Hawk, Rock, Vladi, Pedro, le Grand Orange, Youppi!, the Crazy Business of Baseball, and the Ill-fated but Unforgettable Montreal Expos.

If you are looking to buy a copy, I recommend first checking your local, independent book seller and giving them your support. However, if your area is bereft of such a lovely place to shop and gather, you can purchase the book at Amazon, Barnes and Noble, or other large stores. Of course, renting the book from your local public library is also an excellent option.

I’m aiming to have the book wrapped up and reviewed the week of December 24. Fingers crossed for some fun bonus content about the book as well.

And for those of you still interested in Power Ball by Rob Neyer, fear not. At this point I have to include it in next month’s poll, if only to see if it can be second place again. Until then, happy reading!
