Angering Indians fans who also greatly enjoy great pitching, Jonah Keri writes about breaking it up

The Indians didn’t do much of anything yesterday, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t anything for us gabbys to talk about.

Mainly, Jonah Keri writes that the Indians “logically” want to trade Corey Kluber or Trevor Bauer. Luckily, there is no new development here—this is basically a 2019 preview article, not one pretending to be breaking new news. Alas, it’s on the Internet, it’s about the Indians, and it’s written by a guy who knows a lot about baseball. So we should probably discuss it. Or this stuff...

Around baseball

• The Astros aren’t done after adding Michael Brantley. They still want more talent, now moving their sights to JT Realmuto.

• Matt Harvey has signed with the Angels. I like this move for them. Even if he’s 5% worse than league average, the Angels need healthy arms and $11M is a good price for one. As a bonus, he should be able to ride the seas in LA without running into any crime family members.

• Joe Mauer’s number will be retired some time in the next 365 days.

• The Cubs signed Daniel Descalso for some reason. Perhaps this is the reason.
