First day without Tribe baseball for a long time. I’m not loving this feeling.
Indians 3, Astros 11

The better team won with authority. It was not the Cleveland Indians.
Tribe news
Impending Tribe free agents reflect on tenure | MLB
A lot of familiar faces will be gone next season. And they all, at one point, played crucial roles for the Cleveland Indians over the years. For better or worse, it’s the end of a relatively successful era and it sucks to end with such a whimper.
Brantley savors playoff run after beating injuries | MLB
If this is the last time we see Michael Brantley in a Cleveland uniform, I’m happy that he went out healthy and in top form as opposed to wasting away on the DL. Thanks for everything, Doctor Smooth.
Everything that could go wrong did go wrong.
The Indians didn’t hit, field, or pitch (bullpen) well. The Astros did all of those things well.

Sigh.
The Astros wanted to stop the Indians’ top four hitters, and they mostly did | Cleveland.com
Aside from Lindor’s two home runs, the top of the lineup virtually disappeared entirely. Hard to win when your offensive machine falls out of the car and explodes.
I really hope Jose Ramirez figures out what is going over the winter because his play over the last almost two months was absolutely painful to watch.
It’s very, very hard to win when the only player generating offense is the leadoff man. Oh, and Lindor bunted again at a horrible time.
I don’t want to think about this anymore.
Playoff Updates
- The Dodgers have eliminated the Braves and will face off against the Brewers in Game 1 of the NLCS this Friday.
- In happier news, the Yankees got clobbered worse than the Indians on Monday night. Boston leads series 2-1
Around the league
- Angel Hernandez is still bad at being an umpire.
- Luis Severino only had eight minutes to warm up on Monday, but he’s saying he wasn’t rushed.
- Brocktober has arrived with the first cycle in postseason history (as we all predicted).
Baseball sucks right now, so here are two tweets from two of my favorite Twitter accounts.
This is Ziggy. He sneaks into the fridge sometimes. Enjoys being cool and in close proximity to snacks at the same time. 12/10 extremely relatable pic.twitter.com/ylzpJ9eSnl
