What’s more exciting than a News & Notes post? How about a News & Notes post on the morning after a day with no game?!?!?! Well, don’t blame me. I didn’t make the schedule, but I’m here for the links as always.
Indians news & notes
Is Carlos Santana an AL Gold Glove candidate at 1B? | WFNY
Though one could easily shout a snarky “no” in response to this headline, the fact that a respected Tribe writer like Micahel Bode even dedicated the necessary time to crafting it shows how far Carlos has come. It shouldn’t come as a huge surprise to people who have been Slamtana fans for years, but he’s got a good case to be made for changing his jersey for 2018 Players’ Weekend to Glovetana.
Adjustments paying off for Yandy after callup | Indians.com
I didn’t read most of this article but I assume it just says “POSITIVE LAUNCH ANGLE” in all caps, repeated enough time to hit the Indians.com character minimum. Am I right? Maybe’s there’s some stuff about big, bulging, veiny muscles as well.
Speed kills: Indians promote top 10 prospect Greg Allen | Burning River Baseball
In case you missed it, Tribe #4 prospect Greg Allen is on his way to the bigs, ready to possibly provide another helping hand in the outfield and most likely some helping legs as a pinch runner. The jury is still out on whether or not his bat will play in the majors, but his speed alone should be a valuable asset.
