This one certainly wasn’t easy, especially given how the game started. A 4-0 lead with Corey Kluber on the mound? Pshaw, just give them the victory! But no, Kluber would give back 4 runs (3 of them on a Jose Abreu homer), and the game would be tied 4-4 headed into the late innings. And the Indians were fortunate that the game was tied headed into the ninth, as the White Sox loaded the bases in the seventh and would have runners at first and third in the eighth. But the Indians would take the lead in the ninth the hard way (HBP with the bases loaded, and you’ll never guess who!) and would hold on for the win.

Indians claim reliever Moreno, move Logan to 60-day DL

This officially makes Logan out for just about the remainder of the regular season. Moreno probably won’t stick around on the 40-man roster for too long, but perhaps the Indians can sneak him past waivers when they DFA him.

And this was a nine-inning no-hitter, something you rarely see in the minors, nevermind Single-A.

I do agree with Pluto that the Indians are going to acquire a reliever of some sort. He also mentions that the Indians aren’t going to trade for Asdrubal Cabrera, which surprises me.

The Red Sox ended the Royals’ 9-game winning streak with a 9-8 walk-off win on an unexpectedly agile “slide”, so the Indians’ lead is now 3 games.
