Home runs fly as Indians lose 5-3 - Let's Go Tribe

Everything was going so well. The Indians had re-taken the lead, Corey Kluber was on cruise control, Andrew Miller was warming in the bullpen. But then the eighth inning started. One pitch to A’s rookie Matt Chapman, and the game was tied. Then, in the bottom of the ninth, a walk (by Miller), and then a home run (given up by Bryan Shaw).

The Tribe offense was in a desperate spot last year when Carlos Santana was moved up to the leadoff spot, perhaps Zimmer will serve as a similar catalyst.

Triston McKenzie threw yet another gem last night. Seven no-hit innings before giving up a couple runs in the eighth inning, striking out nine. 65 of his 92 pitches were for strikes.

With both Kipnis and Chisenhall injured, that may affect who the Indians go after on the trade market. Another starting pitcher is probably the priority, though.
