Bauer and the Indians face the Rockies on Getaway Day

A weird schedule has begotten a weird pitching rotation. Danny Salazar, who may have been the one starting today, has come down with a sore shoulder and will be rehabbing the injury in Akron. Mike Clevinger, who pitched (poorly) last night, is going to make his next start in Columbus. Josh Tomlin, who also was in the running to pitch today, is going to be back a couple days. Corey Kluber could also have pitched either or yesterday, but he was held out because the Indians are in a National League park and the team didn't want to risk him swinging the bat.

And so today's start falls to Trevor Bauer, who last pitched on Sunday, but because of a lengthy rain delay, only threw 30 pitches, which is basically a relief outing. So here he is again, pitching on two days' rest, in a locale that does weird things to curve balls. Sounds like a recipe for victory!

Oh, I forgot to mention that Bradley Zimmer is in the lineup. This will be his first second career start against a left-handed pitcher.
