Dan Otero and the Cleveland Indians enjoy 'bounce back' game against Kansas City Royals |

Otero earned the win, thanks to 2 13 innings of scoreless work. From Paul Hoynes:

Otero played a role in Saturday's loss, allowing five runs on four hits in one-third of an inning. Four of the five runs were unearned as the defense made two errors behind him, but it was still nice to follow that performance with Sunday's.

"That's the beauty of baseball," said Otero. "You can bounce back the next day. On a team level we had a tough day Saturday. There's no denying that. I think today we came out with more energy.

"On a personal level, for me it was great to bounce back after a rough one Saturday. You always know that there's next game."

Trevor Bauer makes kick save on grounder |

Ho-hum for Trevor.

Josh Tomlin, not Danny Salazar, will start Wednesday against the Rockies |

Salazar might be getting closer to re-joining the rotation, but he’s not there yet.

Around the League

  • Justin Verlander leaves game with groin injury, injury appears minor.
  • Steven Matz is healthy again and on the way back to the Mets rotation.
  • Adrian Beltre hugs former teammate to get him out. It’s not a kick-save, though.
