After leaving yesterday’s game with an unknown illness, Cleveland Indians Terry Francona has been ruled out of managing tonight’s matchup against the Texas Rangers. Instead, bench coach Brad Mills will handle things while Tito rests up and is monitored at home.
This is the second time this month Tito has left a game early due to these recurring symptoms, but both times it hasn’t been ruled to be anything serious. As for Brad Mills taking over, the relationship between Tito and his bench coach go way back to their playing days at University of Arizona in the early ‘80s.
It’s worrying news for Indians fans, even if it turns out to be nothing, but at the very least we know Tito still has his humor intact:
In the meantime, here's more info.

That’s our Tito, alright.
Indians President of Baseball Operations Chris Antonetti is expected to give more information to the media around 4:15 p.m. ET. According to The Athletic’s TJ Zuppe, Tito is expected to manage tomorrow and will be monitored over the next few weeks.
Francona is expected to return to the dugout tomorrow night. Will be monitored over next few weeks to see what's causing recent symptoms.
