The Indians make the first trip to Kauffman Stadium this season as they look to start a new series with the Kansas City Royals. The Royals have been...terrible this season. And that's putting it nicely. The Royals send RHP Jason Hammel to the mound. Hammel is 34 years old and has given up 16 earned runs in 21.2 innings this season. His ERA+ is an abysmal 64, which means that he would be a Cy Young candidate against the Cleveland Indians if he were left-handed. Luckily for the Tribe, he throws with his right hand, so they should be able to score some runs.
Danny Salazar takes the mound for the Tribe, and he looked pretty good in his last start despite a rocky first inning. On the season, he's allowed 14 earned runs in 29.0 innings, good for an ERA+ of 104. The pitching matchup should favor Cleveland, but baseball can be dumb sometimes.
And now, here's the starting 9 for your Tribe:
