The Indians, as a whole, have struggled at the plate in recent days. The club has scored three runs or fewer in nine of its last 11 games.

Francona said he hadn't decided if Sunday's batting order would become a fixture.

"It's been not a very good 10 days offensively," Francona said. "I just thought this made sense. We'll see moving forward."
