The Cleveland Indians have officially named Yandy Diaz, exciting third base/outfield prospect and Very Large Man, to their Opening Day roster.

We here at Let’s Go Tribe strive to a neutral reporting outlet that has no rooting interest in the team YANDY MOTHER F’ING DIAZ HAS BEEN PROMOTED AND HE’S GOING TO BE THE BEST PLAYER EVER.

Diaz, 26, hit .325/.445/.381 with the Double-A Akron RubberDucks last season and only got better when he reached Triple-A, slashing .325/.399/.461 with a career-high seven home runs. This spring, he has gotten work in the outfield and third base. Manager Terry Francona has said his glove could use some work, but the eye test seems to prove otherwise with slick play after slick play — at third, especially.

With Jose Ramirez being shifted to second base to cover for the injured Jason Kipnis, Diaz figures to be the team’s Opening Day third baseman.
