Tribe News
Medical Update: Some good news, lots of not so good news | Indians.com
While it’s awesome that Michael Brantley is scheduled to play left field in the Tribe’s Cactus League game Monday, there was plenty of other medical news Sunday that wasn’t so encouraging. That includes Jason Kipnis not expected to be ready for game action for another four to five weeks due to shoulder issues, Cody Anderson needing Tommy John surgery, and Tyler Naquin dealing with bilateral knee soreness. Fingers crossed!
Terry Pluto’s scribbles from spring training: Tomlin and Diaz | Cleveland.com
Tomlin and Diaz are doing well and Mr. Pluto has some thoughts.
Yandy Diaz had an impressive day. He was 3-for-4. He ripped two singles to right field, and had an infield hit up the middle. Diaz has a short, compact swing. The right-handed batter hits the ball to all fields.
He missed 10 days with a groin injury in the middle of camp, but he's healthy now. He's hitting .381 this spring. "He is a very advanced hitter with a good idea of the strike zone," said Francona.
Around the League
- MLB wants to crack down on teams manipulating the disabled list.
- Kelly Johnson is still available and looking for a job. Ummmmm, no.
- Phillies mananger fined every player one dollar. Eric Wedge would be impressed.
