Corey Kluber pitches particularly well against most of the Royals. Against their current roster, he allows a line of .234/.276/.370 on average. The major outlier in this group is Mike Moustakas, who has dominated Kluber in 37 at-bats to the tune of .459/.500/.703.

The Royals send out Edinson Volquez, who does not feel like the same player who reached an All-Star game in 2008. He's not terrible, but the return on investment can't be what the Royals hoped for. In fact, the Royals in general are starting to have that kind of vibe. Some corners of the internet are already wondering if it's time to sell, sell, sell at the deadline.
