Indians @ Blue Jays
Friday, July 1, 1:07 PM ET, Rogers Centre
TV: MLB.TV, STO
Radio: WTAM
The reason today's game is a day game is that today is Canada Day, which is a celebration of the 1867 Constitution Act, the legislation that created the country of Canada from three separate British colonies.
Josh Tomlin will get the start today. The Jays were befuddled by Carlos Carrasco's 92 mph split change last night, and now they will have to deal with a pitcher whose fastball will be slower than that changeup. Tomlin's propensity for giving up home runs works in Toronto's favor, for they have hit the second-most home runs in the AL this season. Tomlin will also facing a lineup with both Russell Martin and Troy Tulowitzki in it; those two did not start last night.
I guess I'm saying that this is a tough matchup for the Indians, but if they can pull off the win today, they'll set the franchise record for consecutive wins. Let's hope the ride continues on, for I have no wish to get off anytime soon.
