The Indians are trying to avoid a sweep, and in order to do so will need to score some runs off Cole Hamels. Surprisingly, the Indians have had success against Hamels in their two games against him (which came six years apart). If you're flailing around looking for good omens, the last two times the Indians went to the playoffs (2013, 2007), they faced Hamels during the regular season.

The Indians today called up Tyler Naquin in the wake of Marlon Byrd's suspension, meaning that for the time being either Naquin or Lonnie Chisenhall will be in the lineup against a left-handed starter, with Chisenhall getting the majority of those opportunities. Tonight it's Chisenhall in the lineup against the Texas southpaw.
