The Indians lost the game they were supposed to win (Kluber) and won the game that they were supposed to lose (Bauer), so let's hope that recent history is upended by today's starting pitcher. Danny Salazar has been outstanding in his first six starts, allowing a league-best 4.3 hits per 9 innings and 10.3 strikeouts per 9 (good for 5th in the AL).
Pitching for the Astros is old frenemy Doug Fister, who seemingly faced the Indians ten times a year while with theTigers. He's "pitching to contact" even more these days (4.5 strikeouts/9), though I suspect that's due more to a mid-80s fastball than a tweak to his pitching strategy.
