So, last week, I predicted that we would be basking in the glow of the first Cleveland Indians victory of the season:
By this time next week, we're all hoping that the Cleveland Indians will have won the season opener the day prior. Corey Kluber will throw 7 shutout innings, Francisco Lindor will go 3-for-4 with a go-ahead home run in the 8th, andCody Allen will shut the door in the 9th to bring the Tribe's record to a beautiful 1-0.
Apparently, Mother Nature thought that was silly and decided that Cleveland would be cold in April, thus postponing our celebration by a day. For the vast majority of major league clubs, the first official game is already in the books, and many are gearing up for game #2. For the Tribe, the season starts today (probably...what do I know, I'm not a weatherman).
Indians news
Is a game in April worth two in May? You decide!
Cleveland Indians' catcher Roberto Perez is looking good after being removed from Saturday's game against the Texas Rangers due to a possible concussion. Luckily for Perez, all signs point to him being healthy and ready to go as the young season gets underway.
There has been a lot of speculation recently on how potential ace/rap sensation Trevor Bauer will handle his recent demotion from the starting rotation to the bullpen. Well, on the record, it looks like Bauer will do whatever it takes to put tick marks in the W column. Here's to hoping that Trevor plays a key role in many Tribe victories to come.
NO FRATERNIZING WITH THE ENEMY...erm, I mean, what a nice guy.
Around The League
- I tell ya, baseball doesn't win anymore. We just don't. But with Bryce Harper, we're going to make baseball fun again. I promise you. It's gonna be yuge.
- You better get used to the Chicago Cubs making headlines this season because it's supposedly the year of the Cubs.
- Apparently, the Zack Greinke signing is already a complete and utter failure (according to one game and armchair Twitter analysis).
- And finally, even though we didn't play yesterday, at least we weren't the Padres:
The #Padres lose 15-0. It is the worst Opening Day shutout loss in Major League history and the worst Opening Day loss ever by the #Padres.

Now that that's out of the way, LET'S GO TRIBE!!!
