Bauer back in the rotation against Phillies

Since heading to the bullpen, Bauer has worked on throwing fewer types of pitches and being more effective against hitters. Can his work translate back to the rotation?

Last night, the Cleveland Indians lost in heartbreaking fashion as Ryan Howard hit a towering walk-off home run against Cody Allen. Seeing as it was only the first game in the series, the Tribe can still leave Philly with a series victory. To do that, the offense will need to minimize the strikeouts while Trevor Bauer proves that he belongs in the rotation. Tonight marks Bauer's first start since being added to the rotation to fill Carlos Carrasco's spot. The Phillies counter with RHP Jerad Eickhoff. Eickhoff is off to an okay start to the season, having given up 12 runs in 24.1 innings of work. His K/9 on the season is 10.4, however, which could be trouble for a team that struck out 19 times last night. Tito must have recognized this because Santana is in the lineup in place of Napoli for the evening. With that, here's the starting nine for your Tribe:

Today's Lineups

Jason Kipnis - 2B Odubel Herrera - CF
Francisco Lindor - SS Freddy Galvis - SS
Michael Brantley - LF Maikel Franco - 3B
Carlos Santana - 1B Ryan Howard - 1B
Juan Uribe - 3B Cameron Rupp - C
Tyler Naquin - CF Darin Ruf - LF
Roberto Perez - C Cesar Hernandez - 2B
