Carlos Carrasco's hamstring injury a large blow to Cleveland Indians rotation

Morning news and notes for April 25, 2016.

Aaron Doster-USA TODAY Sports

I don't ask for a lot (actually, I'm sure I do), but I've got a bunch of fingers crossed to help get good news on the severity of Carlos Carrasco's hamstring injury.  Please, please, please get better soon Carlos!

Indians 6, Tigers 3

The Tribe completed a three-game sweep of the Tigers, but did lose Carrasco to what looked like a incredibly serious leg injury.  The Indians had another solid day at the plate, racking up eleven hits and six walks off of Detroit pitching.  Trevor Bauer held it together for the Tribe after Carrasco's early exit and Jeff Manship got Miguel Cabrera to pop out in a huge at-bat late in the game.

Carrasco headed to DL; Bauer may change roles |

More information on Carrasco's hamstring injury should be known Monday afternoon.  With the injury, it seems very possible that Trevor Bauer will return to the starting rotation.  From Paul Hoynes:

Francona, in talking to reporters after the game, wasn't ready to put Bauer in the rotation just yet. Bauer felt the same when asked if he could take Carrasco's next turn after throwing 64 pitches Sunday.

"There's a lot of ifs there," he said. "Like I said before they tell me when to pitch and they tell me when I'm done. "

Still, he's the Tribe's most available and experienced choice.

"Trevor came in and really did a good job," said Francona.
