If you live anywhere in the Midwest, this weekend has been a giant relief after a couple weeks holed up due to winter's late departure. It's finally time to get the lawn mower going, clean up the yard....and go to a ballgame, as 20,000 did yesterday.

Jose Ramirez awakens Cleveland Indians in 7-5 victory over New York Mets |

There wasn't a cloud in the sky yesterday, though there was a small cloud over yesterday's game. Bryan Shaw was brought into a 7-1 game and gave up three hits, including two home runs. So Cody Allen, who all rights should not have even had to warm up, had to go four outs to finish the game.

But I don't want to make this all about the performance of one player, for the rest of the team did great, with Josh Tomlin holding the Mets to one run in five innings, to a breakout fifth inning, to several sparkling defensive players from all corners of the field. Jose Ramirez continued his stellar play, not only at the plate (his double plated the first run of the game) but also with his arm, throwing out David Wright at second base.
