Mother's Day, Memorial Day, Father's Day, and Forth of July will all feature unique caps and jerseys.

As they do every year, teams across Major League Baseball will honor specific holidays during the regular season, although they are going a bit further than year's past. This season it's Mother's Day, Memorial Day, Father's Day, and Fourth of July getting the special treatment. The full list of unique caps and jerseys were revealed today by MLB, which of course includes our own Cleveland Indians.

This is the first season that teams will wear a pink-themed design for Mother's Day uniforms. In the past, they would just wear a standard pink ribbon, but this season the caps and jerseys will prominently feature pink. Same thing for Father's Day, just replace pink with blue. I cannot decide if the Fourth of July jerseys are great or tacky, but I kind of love them anyway. I am just a sucker for patterns on numbers, I guess.

In case you need a refresher for these holidays, here are the dates they fall on in 2016 (and who the Indians will be playing):

  • Mother's Day: Sunday, May 8, CLE vs KCR
  • Memorial Day: Monday, May 30, CLE vs TEX
  • Father's Day: Sunday, June 19, CLE vs CHIW
  • Fourth of July: Monday, July 4, CLE vs DET
The Tribe are lucky enough to be home for all these special occasions this year, even in division battles for three-fourths of them.

Also revealed were the special practice jerseys and caps that teams will wear prior to the All-Star game, which takes place in Petco Park this season. They are modeled after the San Diego Padres look from the '80s. A lot of people love them, but I will never understand the appeal of them.
