2016 LGT Prediction Contest: Danny Salazar

This year he's moonlighted as Rick Vaughn, I refer to him as The Dzar, but one this is for certain, he is today's subject for the LGT prediction contest!

I shouldn't be able to tell in these photos exactly where a man's facial hair has been trimmed on his upper lip. Yet, I can. Thanks, Rob.

This post is part of a series allowing the LGT community to weigh in with their predictions for projected starters and key bench players for the 2016 season. As usual, there will be two separate contests, one for hitters and one for pitchers. Following last year's scoring model, the points system will work relative to the stats - the closer to final number in each category, the more points you can earn, despite what other participants predict. You need not submit predictions for every single player in order to win, but doing so will increase your chances to win.

For position players, you'll be asked to predict each player's plate appearances (PA), home runs (HR), stolen bases (SB), batting average (AVG), on-base percentage (OBP), and slugging percentage (SLG).

Comments for each post will remain active until the night of Sunday, April 3rd, 2015.

Danny Salazar

He exploded onto the scene in 2013, aiding the Indians to their first playoff appearance since 2007 and then spent the next year and part of the following battling with inconsistent results. But something finally began to click for Danny following the latest demotion to AAA and it looks like he turned a corner. It's hard to argue with the results that we saw in 2015 and many of the peripherals are finally trending in the right direction. Walks still continue to plague Danny and seem to be, at this point, one of the final hurdles standing in his path to dominance.

My Prediction

I was incredibly impressed with some of the strides that Danny made last year and I think they carryover big into 2016.
