Jason was busy with real-world work stuff this week, so Matt Schlichting and Merritt Rohlfing stepped in help me discuss the wonderful Winter Meetings. So far, the Cleveland Indians have not done a whole lot, but they have been involved in a couple rumors. Namely Edwin Encarnacion and the fact that they tried -- and failed -- to sign Matt Holliday and Carlos Beltran.
We also briefly preview the Rule 5 draft, which will take place on Thursday as a conclusion to the Winter Meetings. The Indians left a couple top prospects open, but should we really worried about them being taken? And if they are taken, how much of an impact will they really have?
Getting away from the Winter Meetings, what will Mike Napoli's last legacy be with the Indians? Will everyone remember the dingers and ignore the rough months he had at the end? Judging by Facebook comments (which is always a good idea), it looks like the former. We give our thoughts either way.
And finally, we answer your questions. @SSS_joshnelson wanted to know if the Indians' payroll will rise given their World Series run, @330in513 wanted to know if the Indians would add a CF this offseason, @Wallys_World asked how MLB-read Bradley Zimmer really is, and we also took a couple questions live in the comments. Because, if you didn't already notice, we are now streaming our recordings live on Facebook. Be sure to check in on facebook.com/letsgotribe around 9:15 every Monday night to listen to the live, unedited recording of the best Indians podcast on the Internet.
